Now in its 34th year, the Friends of Hamilton Gardens organisation was formed in 1988 to support the growth of the Gardens and to provide a key focus for community involvement. The Friends of Hamilton Gardens Inc is a New Zealand registered charity, registered number CC23690.

We play a key role in raising awareness and promoting the use and enjoyment of Hamilton Gardens by raising funds for on-going garden developments.

In the past three years we have raised $420,000 for features in the upcoming Ancient Egyptian Garden (opening summer 2021/2022), Medieval Garden and Pasifika Garden.

Manu Tukutuku Kite Day

Hamilton Gardens Hungerford Crescent, Hamilton, Waikato

This free fun event encourages families (whānau) to share lessons in kite making and flying Manu tukutuku including Peter Lyn paper kites. Free Face painting, sausage sizzles and soup available. There is also coffee and food available from the Gardens Café on site. A great event and wonderful day out for the whole whānau.
